Yellow enhances your sense of personal power as you visualize the life you'd like to have. Make space to welcome new things into your life.

The solar plexus chakra is associated with your emotions. Its location between the navel and the breastbone connects it to your gut feelings. In Chakra: Balance Your Body’s Energy for Health and Harmony (Sterling, 2000), Patricia Mercier says that your emotions burn up in the fire energy of the solar plexus chakra. Sweeping away the ashes of your emotions keeps your fire burning. “The ideal is to rise above a constant buffeting by negative emotions – not to become emotionless or uncaring – but to register, understand, and then release them.”

Color Associations with Yellow

If you ask someone his favorite color, few people will list yellow. Instead they move toward the energy of colors, such as red, orange, or green. Take a walk through a mall or town center and look for yellow objects. Which shades of yellow appeal to you? Which turn you off? What emotions or mental conditions do you associate with the different shades?

Purchase a small object in a shade of yellow that pleases you. Keep this object someplace where it will be handy when you need to focus on the energy of this color.

Cleaning Clutter and Getting Organized

Yellow can give you self-confidence but it can also overwhelm you with too many possibilities. Just as you want to sweep away the ashes of old emotions, you should sweep away the clutter in your surroundings so you can feel physically comfortable and mentally clear of thought.

If you want to change something in your life – get a new job, move, find a loving partner – but you lack the confidence to do so then use the energy of the color yellow to transform your physical surroundings. By clearing space around you, you will also open up space in your mind and spirit.

Clean your closet, your desk, a messy drawer, a bookshelf. Donate unread books that taunt you with thoughts of who’d you become if you only read them. Toss old grooming supplies. Clear out clothing that no longer fits you physically or stylistically. By sweeping away the ashes, you keep your fire burning.

Creative Visualization for Personal Power

Yellow is associated with clear, effective thinking. Look at something yellow for at least five minutes per day. Focus on your breath, envisioning that you are breathing the color yellow into your body. Allow your thoughts to clear. Close your eyes and visualize the life you would like to have. Imagine walking around your new home. See yourself at a healthy, slender weight. Picture yourself engaged in a conversation with a significant other.

Yellow is a color of personal power. Envision the type of life you’d like to have. Do what you can to make space for what you desire to have physically, emotionally, and spiritually in your life.
