Sometimes jewelry is just jewelry, worn to embellish and outfit or to express an aspect of your personality. However, you can also add a magical intent to the jewelry that you wear or that you make by focusing on the color of the beads and stones and adornments in a piece of jewelry. If wearing visible jewelry with Pagan or Wiccan symbolism would be uncomfortable for you or those around you, you may prefer to wear innocuous-looking pieces that work magic.
Personal Color Associations
Color has varied “symbolic associations and physiological effects,” according to Bill Whitcomb in his The Magician’s Reflection (Llewellyn Publications, 1999). Some associations with color may seem contradictory and that is because different cultures see colors as representing different emotions, connections to nature, or aspects of human existence.
Select an association with a color that makes sense to you. You may find that this connection to color changes depending on your mood or in relationship to events in your life. You may want to build up a collection of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings in a variety of colors.

Using Color Magic
When making a piece of jewelry or selecting an object to wear, focus on your specific intent as colors can be associated with aspects you may consider both positive and negative. If you want to eliminate something from your life, consider hiding a piece of jewelry in a color connected with that negativity beneath a high-neck shirt or within a pocket.
Then, wear a piece of jewelry with a color that represents what you want to draw into your life. The two pieces will both create a blank space and fill it in with what you desire.
You can purchase jewelry to meet your magical intent. If you are using the color of the beads to assist in your magic then it isn’t necessary to spend a great deal of money. On the other hand, you may prefer to focus your purpose while making a piece of jewelry. For individuals do not normally engage in jewelry making, two simple projects include Make a Beaded Power Bracelet and Make a Chakra Bracelet for Healing and Balance.
